Senior Manager, Accounting

As a Senior Manager of the Accounting team at CoverMyMeds, you’ll make a significant contribution to the success of our business. Reporting to our Senior Director of Accounting, the role is broadly responsible for managing and developing the accounting team, ensuring SOX compliance, assisting with technical accounting issues and both internal/external audit preparations. You’ll own communication with Prescription Technology Solutions and CoverMyMeds leadership as well as implement new processes and procedures as needed.

What You’ll Do

Like most growing companies, the job content of all positions varies daily as everyone pitches in to get the job done. Nonetheless, we try to maintain clarity with respect to employees’ primary responsibilities.

 

You’ll spend the most time leading our accounting team. This includes:

  • Overseeing month-end and quarter-end close, AP/AR, and payroll
  • Supporting the quarterly reporting process – coordinating with internal/external auditors and preparation of interim and annual financial statements
  • Supporting various other accounting processes – external reporting, budgeting, technical accounting, internal audit, revenue recognition, and contract review
  • Maintaining and enforcing finance-related policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Managing the general ledger including updates, system access, chart of accounts, and period closes
  • Assisting with preparation of documents for annual financial statement audits, quarterly review activities, and internal control audits
  • Supporting and/or leading the required accounting design and related controls to make new products and services operational
  • Supporting various Finance, Segment, and Corporate initiatives and projects

You’ll also collaborate with a variety of stakeholders. This includes:

  • Acting as a liaison between the company and third-party auditors and other outside firms

Success in this role means seeing the big picture. You can plan ahead, look around corners, embrace change, and juggle multiple priorities. This includes:

  • Driving process improvements that are critical to help scale the organization
  • Leading optimization of existing systems and software, including our ERP, NetSuite
  • Thriving in a dynamic and fast-moving organization

 

About You

Our ideal candidate has significant experience with audit work and at least 4 years in a managerial role. We are looking for a collaborative team player with great attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Specific qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • 10+ combined years of both public accounting (Big Four preferred) and industry experience (public company preferred)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with accounting disclosure checklists
  • Advanced understanding of internal control concepts
  • CPA designation preferred

Additional technical skills:

  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills, including vLookUps and pivot tables
  • Experience working with financial accounting software (NetSuite preferred)

Soft skills:

  • Superb communication ability
  • Extremely organized
